For many hot tub owners, winter is a great time to enjoy the cooler outdoor climate. There is nothing more relaxing than experiencing the crisp air and calm energy of the winter months – as you are nestled beneath a warm wrestling massage of spa jets. Don’t let winter keep you indoors. Grab your family and friends, create a few memories or simply relax. To help you enjoy your hot tub all winter long, follow the tips listed and enjoy your winter retreat to the max!
- Warm towels:
One of the most popular swim spa accessories is a towel warmer. It’s a small electric towel rack that warms 2-5 towels while you relax. No towel warmer, no problem! Just pop some towels in the dryer and store them in a small insulated box or cooler with a few microwaveable heating pads. This keeps your towel nice and toasty.
- Hot drinks:
There is nothing better than enjoying your favorite warm beverage while relaxing in your spa. During the winter months, warm beverages are best but, be sure to keep water nearby at all times to regulate your body temperature. Mix up a specialty drink and keep it warm in an insulated cup, canister or thermal mug for a steamy sip each time.
- Spa covers:
The colder the weather is outside, the faster your spa will lose heat. Spas without an effective cover will have trouble maintaining the heat during freezing temperatures and may not recover fast enough after losing ten degrees while the cover is off. If your cover is struggling to keep the heat inside, it may be time to consider purchasing a new spa cover.
- Facial moisturizer
Thick skin cream and hand lotions will often protect your face from the bitter bites of winter winds. A layer of moisturizer or sunscreen can help keep moisture locked in your skin and prevent you from drying out easily. It also forms a barrier over your pores, which reduces the absorption of spa chemicals that may be released into the water.
